Avus Silver Paint damage
I have a 2002 ALMS in Avus silver. It was parked where some rotten bird excreted berry juice on my hood and front valence. I washed it off within 2 hours and now have what appears to be permanent paint damage. It didn't etch the paint like I have seen in previous posts on this subject, and mild swirl remover does nothing to remove it. The stain seems to have penetrated the clear coat and stained the silver underneath. My question is have other ALMS owners had any simmilar problems ? And does anybody know of any special product or witchcraft to remove this horrible blight from my paint??

Re: accck, just say "no." No Avus color problems here. ;-)
I hear ya on the silver. On cloudy days the paint looks like primer,a big mistake on the point of Audi. I think this car would look really good in black. It would be perfect with the red and black interior, that puts a serious price on the head of that bird.

LOL, you misunderstood. I adore the Avus. ZGTT was suggesting
you paint your car Lake Silver. Black is nice, but hell to keep clean and paint chips show up way more as well as swirl marks. Avus/Red is a classic Audi combination going back to the Wanderer in the 30's.

All you can do is try to get to the base . I would do the zaino thing -- wash the area with dawn . .
be careful - when you wash with Dawn it will look odd if part of car is washed this way and part not -- you need a good break off point --
then clay bar the area and then inspect to see what must be done --
one never knows -- doubt if it went through the clearcoat in 2 hours --
If claybar doesn't do it, I'd try some mild swirl remover -- then I would do the zaino thing. polish, etc. See zaino.com or use your regular waxing process
I must leave the office, so good luck and ask the others....

One of my favorite things about the Avus is just THAT...
it changes hue with the day's condition. Oh hell, made it sound like a big mood ring LOL!...what I meant to say is that you get more colors for the price of one, or something like that...aack! never mind...I just love the color, that's all :-)

If the paint is gone - you should try one of the new polychromatic paints - they change color based
