I finally test drive my four top cars. WRX,350z, audi TT 225 quattro, S2000. I am was most impressed with the audi.I was just wondering how much tuning can be done with the 225 model besides the ECU , air filter and exhaust. Seems like alot more upgrades for the 180 version. which model and engine has the VVT.

well it depends how crazy you want to get...
intake/exhaust/FMIC/chip/bigger turbo & upgraded fuel system/2.0L conversion... the list goes on and on...
the 350z & s2k are pretty limited, being naturally aspirated... (and the s2k can't handle boost very well with an aftermarket kit...)

I don't think vvt can be exploited for performance on these cars.
It's there for emissions only.
There are turbo upgrade kits available for the 225 but right now they are wicked expensive for the price. If APR comes thru with their stage 3 for the 225 it should be pretty sick (~350hp)

i appreciate the feedback, just wondering since all of u are vets with the TT. Wondering which one is better to mod the 225 or 180.cause i have seen that the APR kits are only for 180. Just wondering if down the road if they will have anything for more for the 225. I looked at a Raven black 2001 225 quattro. I loved it. Interior is very nice, and u either love the exterior or hate, and i love it.

On the 350z just for FYI. The Bose stereo is crap. i had better sound from my 1980 tape deck.Also for the turbo kits u need like 6000 in mods. Because the nissan block is garbage. I talked to this guy from greddy said the detonated about 10 engines. Their kit will include new cam, rods, fuel rail, pump injectors the list went on forever.The stillen blower is the best way to go.

Get the 225 used...
...the compression ratio is lower, block is girdled, and main bearings and pistons/rings/pins are uprated...
...the 225 stage3 will get you to 345-365 HP

Just Get a Shiclipse!!!
You should just buy a 1989 Eclipse Turbo and see how many times a day you can grind it going into first. After making tranny-music, see how long it takes for the paint to flake off using a Porter Cable Belt Sander, and stick a potato up the fart pipe.
