APR, GIAC, REVO, MTM, several that offer 'best'. ;^)
We've had users from all the major vendors, and a few others. Best thing is find a tuner and get a trial (6h of "on" time while you boost the night away). If you prefer mor torque, order according to you rbutt dyno. If you want HP/top end, do the same.
VOILA!
What seems to matter most is local availability (tuner), local gas (can you get the higher octanes), and personal preference.
We've had a least one spectacular causalty on each of the major chips IIRC. You start getting into serious tresses, you might want to ask about Stage III+ issues, adn individuals' expectations and experiences.

depends on who you talk to, APR and GIAC both have prorgams that are nice
if you are willing to pay more to get them. you really will have to do your own reviews on the Intraweb to get a good knowledge of which one would be best for you. some have been known to have issues with other mods, some give you a hair more HP then others. Best way is to search for all of them and find the one you think is the best. In the end it seems people just say the pretty much do the same thing. This is coming from a guy that still can't choose (GIAC vs. APR for me)

they are all close in comparison...I recommend you select the one that has the closest
dealer to your location. In the event you have a problem with your ECU as a result of the chip you can get help locally.

FWIW having both of those -
what I liked about my APR, 'smooth' delivery and easy to change modes w/ the CC switch. I replaced it with a GIAC X, which feels 'edgier' and has more noticeable gains with 100 octane, bit of a PITA to switch modes with the flashloader. These replaced my original AMS chip.
My tuner had the same observations about the 'feel' between the 2, but the reverse experience on 100 octane.

You are correct. The Best Chip for the 1.8T 225HP is APR
Made for Audi's by Audi experts (Audi Performance & Racing). You can change from one program to the next on the fly. Nice to test the butt-meter on your new found performance.
Get the best not a wannabee.
