best front end bra?
Any Ideas?
I'm already p*ssed about 2 small chips on the front end - must be the paint isn't as tough as they lead you to believe.
Heh.. snowed in now with 15" yesterday - so she's not going anywhere right away...

I like the clear front end protectors like Invica-Shield or Stone Guard - more.
Traditional front end Bras have several problems that can damage your finish. For example it is very common for the paint surface to dull at the edges of the bra. This happens for a couple of reasons the most prominent being wind buffeting. A small amount of looseness (or not)in the material will cause flapping at speed that slowly dulls your paint, also straps often oscillate against the paint. Second, dirt inevitably accumulates along the edges and this compounds the aforementioned problem. Bras also have a tendency to trap moisture and is can cause paint to 'cloud' over time. I have seen bras that have been in place for a while concealing mold and mildew and again this is bad news for your paint. These issues are all made worse if you leave the bra on all the time as opposed to using it for long trips etc. Most people would agree that bras detract significantly from a car's esthetic; in fact I would go so far as to say they are ugly. Clear films have none of these problems and are virtually invisible, although they are not cheep. JIM

3M Scotchcal product sold by Invinca Shield or Stone Guard
If your Ok with a clear polymer based product a good way yo go. I have put this on several of my cars in the past and applied the Invinca Shield product to my TT this past weekend. You can pretty much decide which exposed surfaces you want to cover from the lower spoiler to the roof line. If you're not particularly handy find an installation shop where you live.

I'll 3rd that. I have InvincaShield and I'll be in Niskayuna the end of April if you want to see it
Contact me off-forum. I'll be in town as a stopover to the Northampton NE get together. You don't happen to live off Nott Street do you?

Just grease up and go. You won't believe it.
According to an article I just read a secret used by people who show there "hot rods" and have to drive them to the site is to put a heavy layer of Vaseline on the front of the car. It is supposed to trap bugs and small rocks then they wash it off when they're at the show. Seems like a mess but might be good for a long trip. And no I haven't tried it. BTW the writer did not recommend bras.

Which would make it a "mask" wouldn't it? I think I'll stick with that.
