Default BM question. After turning it up to 5 turns boost, 1 onset. Car seems to "overboost"

if accelerating in a gear from low RPMS. For example, if I'm in 4'th at 2K RPM and I go WOT the boost will clime to 25+++PSI. I'm talking 27, 30psi easily. Not all the time, but often enough. If, however, I go WOT from 3-4K boost goes up to 21-22 and stays there. No errors are thrown when boost hits 25+ and no limp mode, but I know it can't be good for the turbo so if I see it climb past 25 I back off the gas. Again, only happens on wot from low RPM when the load on the engine is the greatest. Any ideas? I'm thinking that TURBO spins out of control under that sort of load and ECU/N75 can't bring it back, but I'm not sure how to deal with it effectively. I don't want to turn down the BM cause that will mean that I won't hold at 21-22 when accelerating from say 3K.

Default I get the same boost levels,

Our K04 turbo cannot provide the boost levels (27PSI) over ~4000RPM. The highest I got was 23PSI over 4000RPM and drops to 22-23 at 5500 with 5 turns on the BM. I can spike to 27PSI or more at lower RPM.

I don't really go more than 4.75 turns cuz the ECU will go into limp mode after I drive it hard.

Pls confirm this with TTSchwing, he can probably give you a better answer. =)

Default Turn it down...>

Don't be a boost junkie...Sustained boost at 22psi is making more heat which is retarding timing and power. A KO4 can't sustain that. Set the Peak at 23-24, let it adapt (and I mean drive it for awhile) and see if it isn't better overall, day to day.

Also tweek the onset until it just starts to get tighter...bout 1.5 turns....Smoother transition..

Default done and done! Boost is reduced a bit...I'll turn it down even more. Thanks Steve!

I'm still getting used to a perfectly running car. Not sure if you recall but it took me forever to figure out what was wrong with it. No leaks but the car just refused to boost as high as I would have liked. Changed the thermostat and all is PERFECT! Now I have to adapt my boost machine tunning.
