BoilerCrow - The Scoop on Visor Airbag Warnings-->
I have an '02 ALMS. The warnings, inside and out, cannot be removed. So I have a German friend in Mainz who sent me a replacement pair. Lights work and I got an extra bonus - note holders. You know, straps inside.
Cost about $150 plus some gifts.
I got in touch with NHTSB? and they said the warnings should be, "difficult to remove". They don't have to be permanent. Also, the consumer is free to modify ANY product they purchase. So there's no problem with replacing them.
I wrote three letters to Audi USA to complain. They don't know the rules. After the 3rd letter they wrote back and said if I write again they would just "file it" and not respond. I hate bureaucrats!
I don't know why 3rd party suppliers haven't jumped on this market.
Para mi, I don't want no stinkin' warnings to detract from my Guggenheim award-winning TT design.
If/when I buy another TT they will have to switch my visors, armrest, etc. from this car, or give me some credits.
Sometimes you have to kick back, man. Bitch about it.

Interesting! I wish I had a german friend, kinda Only way to kick back is not to buy an Audi, but that I will not do.. Maybe I should get aftermarket visors with LCDs, .. who knows... thanks for the info

I agree about the visors, but... "Guggenheim award-winning TT design" what did I miss?
I know an early Tv ad was shot there. However, I know of no actual design award or show at the museum.
