Default Boost gauge problem

I just installed a boost gauge in my car. It lights up fine, but the needle never moves from 5psi or so. The hose is installed as per the instructions. There are no visible kinks in the hose. Does this sound like a faulty unit or is there some trouble shooting I can run through?

Default It is the Defi-d gauge that you have a pic of in your fotki.

Yeah. I figured it should read 0 at rest, but it is up at 5.... sound like a defect?

Default Shouldn't be reading 5......>

Pull the hose off the gauge while it's idling and see if you have any vacuum there...Idle will probably roughen up a bit from the leak....Unless your hose is kinked..

Default well.... there is no vacuum on the line

I would feel it on my finger wouldn't I? I will have to re run the hose through the cockpit again and see if that helps. I know there isn't a kink in the actual engine compartment.

Thanks for weighing in.

Is the point moot here if it is at 5 anyway? Will that always be where it rests or will it settle once it gets some sort of vacuum/boost?

Default It should be at "0"....get the line fixed and see what you got...>

Once activated and it goes through a few sweeps, it may settle at 0 as it should...
