Default Bosch bypass valve...

is what they replaced my defective valve with. Is that standard issue? What originally comes with the car? If not, how do you tell which model it is? I'm not ready to risk voiding my warranty just yet so I haven't gone the custom valve route.

Default Original was Bosch(sp?) as well...

On the side of the valve it should have a one letter code. It seems the later models have correspondingly later letter from the alphabet.

Go aftermarket, have not heard of one dealer yet that has given anyone a seriously hard problem for an aftermarket DV.

Default Look at it this way...

The dealer did all the hard work for you, replacing the OEM clamps with screw types.
Buy a Bailey or Forge, put it in yourself. Drive the car.
Put the OEM back in the car when you take it to the dealer.
It ends up being a 10 minute job, literally, once you do it yourself.
I've done this now at the 5K and 10K service.

BTW- Look on the side of the valve, the revision is stamped in larger letters than the rest of the valve. It's on the side, bet it's Rev. 'N'.
Mine was 'H'.

My dealer installed my Bailey after installing two defective DVs! I personally wouldn't worry about warranty probs, nor would I bother changing valves back and forth.

I wonder if most of you swapped to an aftermarket DV after experiencing trouble. I assume (perhaps not correctly) that every (especially N which mine must have with a Jan. 01 build date) DV does not fail.
