Default brilliant black vs. raven black

I am thinking about trading my brilliant black 180 FWD for a raven black 225Q. I haven't seen raven black in person, only on the website. I can't see alot of difference in the two, except that the raven black has a pearl effect. Any input from you raven black owners would be appreciated regarding your opinions of the color, and especially comparing it to brilliant black. Thanks!!

Default Check it out in the sunlight and in the evening... Ambient lighting has a lot to do w/

understanding the differences between the two.

Obviously, Raven is considerably faster... ;-)

Default From what I understand>>

Raven is easier to take care of mainly b/c it is a Pearlescent paint. So, you will not notice the swirls as much....which is VERY VERY nice on a black car. You can be meticulous about cleaning ur car, but if its black, it will look like crap in the sun b/c of the swirls. Supposedly, with Raven the swirls are not as noticeable.

Default I did the same...

In June I traded my BB 180 for a BB 225. I had them park both Raven and Brilliant side by side. Raven is much more charcoal in color, eventhough alone they both read as black. The dealer's Detailer that day said I should have gone with the Raven because minor scratches and swirls don't show so much. That is the plus side of raven.

I still prefer BB because the Charcoal gives a somewhot soiled look to the car, especially on a rainy day. And boy does it rain a lot here.

Anyway, still BB

Default Tsk, tsk... It has Mineral Gray flecks, when I get a TTS in full Mineral Gray, I'll be able

to totally anihilate anything short of a Diablo. And, maybe even a Diablo, if the driver's wearing the wrong shoes... ;-)

Default Here's some help for you....

Personally, I think BB is a deeper black, particularly in bright sunlight. To me, RB sometimes has a dark brown look, like a very fast UPS truck :-) Both are gorgeous in their own way.

Texas tea vs. Rootbeer in sunlight. Of course, that is w/out the BB speed advantage as well.

Default A fast UPS truck??? You have slighted my people, we challenge you to a duel (glove slap, etc.).. ;-)

Just kidding... The Raven(ous) One is displeased, but he'll get over it, eventually...

I actually partially agree, Raven, when not showroom clean, is somewhat dull. But, when clean - watch out!!! A brilliant (and faster than BB, blah, blah...) color!!!

;-)
