Default Buy a 02 TT or not...Reliability

I'm trying to decide if I should buy a 2002 Audi TT coupe 180hp quattro. The vehicle was :titled by the dealer has to be sold as used, only has 475 miles on it, initial manufacturer warranty and maintenance, extended warranty from audi, premium package (lights, wheels, radio). Have them down to about 30K for the car.

My holding point is reliability of the TT? I've read consumer reports where the 00 and 01 were listed as unreliable and to be avoided. I currently driver a 02 Subaru WRX and have about 50K in miles on it now. I need something that will last and last.

Specific questions:

*TT reliability?
*What do I need to be aware of with the model?
* What type of maitenance costs am I looking at outside of those standard done under the 50K audi warranty

Default I have an '02

I have a 180hp '02. My only problem so far, aside from a hatch rattle, has been the cd player fuse. Dealer replaced the unit and now that is fine.

Default Lets see, bad catalytic converter, bad coil packs, bad lifter leading to ruined camshaft...

but, its never left me stranded by the side of the road - and I still love it - A Toyota or Honda its not, hell, its been more of a problem than my Ford Explorers were, but I still don't regret getting it ;-)

Default Re: As I understand it clusters have been a problem

on all Audis for a long time. I just don't understand why they can't fix it. Are they repairing and recirculating them?
