Default Buying a modified TT...

After lurking for a few months, I am getting ready to fnally buy a TT. I am considering one that already has the APR chip, and I am wondering what any of you think about that, in terms of concerns about abuse, etc., and also how it effects actual sale prices on used models. My experience with other cars suggests that it actually lowers the price, and the person is already asking $2500 over bluebook.

Thanks!

Default You can get the chip for less than $750, why pay a premium? Is the car in

really good condition to justify the high cost? If not, move on. If you can get one with an Audi CPO warranty, it would be worth that premium (IMO).

Default Chances are, too, that if it comes with mods, its been run harder than your typical "lease return"..

though some folks (especially many here) absolutely pamper their cars, so the more you can qualify the owner's rep, the better... no matter what, it's still "buyer beware" (but that goes for new cars, too).

Default Yes, but how many lesees, do we see here demodding before turing it back in?

Just because this person is being upfront, their being discrminated against. I say it's a good sign, at least they're being honest. But as you said, caveat emptor.

Default Mileage? Service history?

These will affect the price. Also check to see all the work that was done under warranty.
