Default Buzzing sound from instrument cluster

Does anyone else have a faint buzzing sound eminating from the instrument cluster? It's fairly quiet. I can only hear it with the radio off and car standing still, but it's still annoying.

I think most, if not all, TTs have this when the brightness is anything but 100%

it's the dashboard dimmer switch[rheostat next to the light switch]creating the problem

Default It's NORMAL - the dash dimmer switch buzzes at anything other than 100% brightness...

This is because the dimmer circuitry likely uses PWM (pulses) to dim the dash LEDs rather than reducing voltage to them...

correct,i should of explained further.if the software level of the cluster is lower than d53,the cluster needs to get replaced as this is the level of software that eliminated the buzz/whistle

Do you have the most recent software? If so does it let you change from 24 hour to 12 mode on the clock? The dealership said they'd replace the whole instrument cluster for me so the buzzing sound is gone but it seems like a lot to go through just to get rid of the buzz. But if I was getting a 12 hour clock too it'd be worth it. (In Canada they come as 24 hour clock only).
