I am in the UK but my TT is from Germany. Its a 1998 180 FWD.

Engine codes are different everywhere, evidently. Sorry, not alot of help here,

with so many different codes for the different countries.
Your best bet would be to inquire on the German TT forum, IMO.

I would try the German Forum but I dont speak German.

At least there is some hope that maybe both lumps are compatible in the engine bay.
