Can I LEMON LAW my S4???...need help please!!!...
Well, at 29,000 miles my 2000 S4 had the usual turbo whine many of us have experienced..."its on the passenger side, worse when cold, heard at 1000-3000 rpm's, and had NO loss of power."
So, anyways, Audi replaced the turbos about 2 months ago when this occured. THEN, 1 week later, the whine comes back! So, they replaced them again! I got the car back about 1 month ago, and NOW again the whine is BACK for a third time (now at 32,000 miles)!!! The whine is identical each time, as I exactly explained it above.
So, that means it has to be replaced a third time!!!
So, this is getting out of hand. I really love the S4, and I need to keep it a long while since I'm only a student making negative $40,000 a year. (I'm getting yearly loans.) I was actually considering getting an aftermarket warranty that will go up 100,000 miles costing almost $3,000.
Now, this is my dilemna: I BOUGHT THE CAR USED (at 28,000 miles). I did a search on lemon laws in my state (Florida), and the info said that USED cars are NOT COVERED under the Florida Lemon Law.
Does anyone know what I can do? This is driving me nuts!
Will AOA work anything out with me???
Or will they take advantage of the fact that I got it used? I figure they have to do something since this is probably costing them a fortune each time they do the work...supposedly nearly $7,000 each time. (BTW, the tranny has been worked on TWICE already...once with the previous owner, and AGAIN when it had its last turbo change...syncro problems and gear problems.)
Thank you VERY, VERY much to whomever can help!
