can i switch a 2001 deck (cassette) for a 2002 deck (CD)? don't want 3rd party deck nor a changer

i was told by a dealer that the "wiring" is not compatible from a 2002 to a 2001..is this correct?

Default Main connectors are the same plug, this sez you can, but...

Look at the pale yellow connector on the pic of the rear here.
that connector is not on the 'Concert I'
Methinks it's the notorius 'CAN-BUS' me too connector, but not sure.

It could also possibly be a connector for a cell phone antenna.
The H/U would integrate the antenna switch if the "PHONE" mode is activated.
Possible.

What is...WAY over my head...?? You unplug one, plug in the other. AFAIK, no one has done this.

Jeff, this looks like it will work, you just have to change the wiring around alittle bit
