Default Check engine light came up, my mechanic says that is
the turbo valve, does he mean the Divert Valve?

Default What's the code it's throwing?
Haven't heard of code being thrown that pinpoints a DV as being bad.

Default Check engine could be anything from simple, gas cap not tight to..............
major problems, the major ones are not very common. MAF, mass air flow sensor is most common.

There's one that when read with a vag com actually says "Check DV!!"

Default This are the two codes P1173 and P1297
He says that the first one reads Clogged suction jet pump, but he cannot find it.

And the P1297 is about a valve

IS HE CORRECT?
