Cleaning the car in the winter
Just took delivery of a ALMS 225 Misano Red.
I had to drive it home in the snow as I live in PA
and it is in my garage and would like to clean it
It's very cold out, does any one have any suggestions.

Bundle up and take to a self wash. I did it a couple weeks ago in NJ....
As long as the air temp isn't much below 20 you'll be fine. You don't want to use a power spray in extremely cold temps b/c of the risk of "sandblasting" your car with ice crystals that can form before the spray reaches the surface.

In a touchless spray wash you shouldn't have to worry about "ice blasting" unless it's colder than
20 degrees out - those wash bays are all heated to keep them from freezing up. Find a good LaserWash that's COMPLETELY touchless (i.e. no "boot" that you have to drive into - those things are WHEEL EATERS and will destroy the lip on your rims)... Look for one that just has lines painted on the floor.
By the way, I don't trust those wash bays w/ the soap wands at all - people just abuse that stuff and the next thing you know your scrubbing your brand new TT's paint job w/ all the dirt and grime from the last guys off-roading pickup truck. You're much better off at a spray wash if you can't wash by hand at home.
Avoid any wash that has a track or a boot to guide your car, and don't go in any soft cloth car washes as the heavy cloths can damage the area by your nipple antennae on your roof.
One really has no business washing a car when it's less than 20 degrees farenheit anyways - not good for you, not good for your car.

Good point about the soap brushes at self washes. DO NOT USE THEM.....
If there isn't a line of cars waiting, take your own soap and cleaming mits (seperated by wheel/paint). The soap brushes at those places are full of brake dust and other assorted crap that will scratch the sh*t out of your clearcoat. If you really must use one of those brushes, make sure you apply only extremely light pressure. Even so, you're risking some damage that you can easily avoid.
