Default Cluster swap

I bought a brand new cluster at the dealership to replace my non-working one ; can I set the mileage I want ??

Any experience, good or bad, replacing cluster ??

Thanks

Default

Can you be more specific? Nobody likes to have it done, those out of warranty, more so.

Default please post all details on the car, VIN if possible..>>

so that we know to avoid it when you sell it!

dealership should put it in and transfer the mileage

"can I set the mileage I want"
sorry that's an unacceptable question

Default Integrity issue aside...>>>

I believe a dealer has the necessary tool to reset/"program" the cluster that most DIY folks would not have.

I had to replace the cluster on my TT (out of warranty) right after purchasing it used. I was going to purchase the cluster and having it intalled by reputable repair shop (save on both the cluster and installation labor expense) but the repair shop I took it to informed me that the TT (of all the Audi models) was the only model that he could not install the cluster since the dealer had the special reset tool or code necesary. I may not have all the terminology correct as what the dealer has that is required, but FWIW, that was my experience.

Default Bipes recently swapped his cluster

He said it was a piece of cake, buth then again... he's Bipes!

There may be an immobilizer issue, but I'm not sure what that would be.

Default post car details, and you'll need a VAG-COM of some sort...

to set all of the necessary adaptations, and coding.

Year, Model, mileage is needed, and no, replacing the cluster takes 15-20 minutes
