Default Clutch malfunction saga continues...

So after speaking so pleasantly with Dmitria yesterday, I was feeling pretty confident that AudiUSA was gonna come to my rescue.

Foolish Human! hahahahahah!

Um, no.

Basically they did nothing except to ask the dealer to "give me a break" on the parts prices, and that's it. Even after I called Customer Care back and spoke with someone else, they could offer me nothing. Bubkis. Nada. Zilch.

Feh!

So the deal is this: Parts: Clutch $174; pressure plate $190.87; flywheel $711, labor $250. Total $1325 + tax.

I know I could have gotten some of the parts- especially the flywheel cheaper, but the dealer said they would have nothing to do with any parts they didn't sell me and wouldn't install them, much less warrantee them or their installation.

I would have liked it if they had at least offered to split the entire cost, but I guess $1400 isn't that bad for a dealer installed-clutch, so I guess I should just grin and bear it.

Anyone wanna but a 2001 Quattro 225 74K mile Amulet Red coupe with a new clutch? I'm not very happy with Audi USA right now.

if you feel that they are unreasonable...take them to small claims.

Default My clutch is getting replaced right now and the shop had quoted my $1300 for

just the parts from Audi. I ofcourse got the parts from somewhere else much cheaper and just paying the shop for the labor to install them. And the labor they are changing you is very low for a clutch replacement. Now I wish I had complained to Audi about mine. Since I did indicate that there was a problem while the car was still under warranty.

Default think it's too late for that. shouldv'e negotiated with the service mgr. first, 'specially since....

they mis-diagnosed his earlier problem and replaced the MC.

A little negotiating, and reminding them they messed up the diagnosis would have gone a long way for them to work closer with him.
sorry, but thats' that way it is

Small claims will throw this out, not be in his favor.

Also, my delaer will install part I bought, but not warranty them.

That's pretty much SOP.

Default Looks reasonable. >>>

The clutch and its components are wear items. Yesterday you indicated that slave cylinder and bearing were being taken care of under warranty.

Doing a new clutch at 74K is not that unusual.

Grin and bear it.

They're only charging me 2 hrs of labor since the tranny is open for the warranty already
