Clutch Problem
I have a TT roadster with about 1600 miles on it.
Last week we began having problems with the clutch. In first or second gear the clutch pedal does not come back up after it has been depressed. (You must physically pull it back up with your foot.) Additionally the clutch engages at different positions when the pedal is depressed.
OF COURSE the problem is intermittent and cannot be recreated by the mechanics at the dealership! We have replaced the master cylinder (clutch) but the problem still occasionally occurs.
Has anyone seen this problem before? If so please let me know. I'm afraid the mechanics are beginning to think I don't know what I'm talking about.

I really assume that you've checked this already, but I ran into this with my 944 a while back. I felt like such a dolt after hemming and hawing about what was wrong with the car. Turned out that the top of the clutch pedal was catching on a loose wire and a little bit of loose carpeting. 
Stupid, simple problem. I doubt that's your problem, but if you haven't looked down there, take a gander. <p>

Typically there is a 'return spring' located at the pedal end of the system...I can not see in this area since there is a under dash cover hidding mechanism. But in every car that I have owned there has always been a 'return spring'/tensioner. Might check for (1) such a item exists and (2)binding/part failure etc.<p>2001 Amulet Red 225TTQC
