Cold running issue
car is not running well when cold. Needs to warm up for 5 minutes at least (when cold), or car just bucks and spits along. It also seems to sputter a bit during gear changes, even when warm.
Plugs are new (didn't help)
No CEL
Any suggestions?

You might need....
a new coolant temp sensor. These go bad and your symptoms are spot on for a failed one. Since you have an early car you'll need the more expensive blue one most likely...Pull the plug harness and look at it. If the corners are square rather than oval you need blue. If oval get the green. 5 minute easy replacement.
