Continued cooling issue... Need answers.

Re: anything over 112c is overheating in the TT>>>>
I took them all the parts which was the timing belt kit from Dieselgeek. However, even before the timing belt and water pump were replaced, the car was having the same issues. I was just hoping that the orig water pump was bad, thus causing the problem... but apparently that's not the case.

Just to be clear in my problem...
the temperature constantly cycles between those temps. It reaches 102C, fans kick on, temp drops back to 97C, fans turn off, then temps immediately begin to rise back up to 102C. Just a continuous cycle.

Yep! (again) and here's why....>>
The radiator requires air flow through it to dissipate heat. When you stop in traffic, no flow, Right? The Coolant temp will then heat up (and the gauge will rise) until the Fan trigger set-point is hit. The fan turns on, provides airflow, and the temps and Gauge reading decline until the fan turn off point is reached. At that point, if you remain stationary, the cycle will repeat ad infinitum...

Thanks guys... Just making sure
Again, it's the first car I've ever had where the gauge moves above normal at all. My TDI doesn't do it (of course Diesels don't produce much heat anyway). My old A4 2.8 never did it, nor many other Subaru's and VW's that I've owned... So I just assumed it was an issue. Glad to see that it's normal for this car and I'll just ignore it for now. Thanks again.

Regardless of what everybody has said, I think you have a problem......
My temperature has never, ever gotten close to 100C. If it had gotten to 102C and then been reduced to 97C I would worry. I wouldn't want to operate my car at those elevated temps. Anything above 90C and I begin to worry.
I know I'm going to get a lot of flack on my comments but I'm sorry. I would look for a fix if my car were operating at 100C.
