Default Convertible top service advice.

My soft top motor is in need of hydraulic fluid. The bently shows that this is a real PIA job. Should I resort to going to the dealer or a shop that specializes in convertible repairs.l Thanks.

It may be some kind of special fluid that only Audi has. Find out what is the exact fluid before you decide.

Default My Dealership asked me what fluid I thought would be needed. they quoted $1500>>

to check and replace hydraulic motor. The motor & pump still work, but i thnk the fluid level is low. this can damage the pump if used under this condition.

How much did it cost and what were the symptoms?

I've got a 2002 TT that is suffering through a slow rear window separation. Coincidently my rear window defroster has ceased to function.

Does anyone know if the separation can be corrected without having to peel the top off or is a top-ectomy necessary to properly complete the repair?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
