Default Coolant temp problems HELP

So, I changed my tbelt, serpentine belt, water pump, and tstat. Now for some reason, my temp gauge on the dash is steady middle when driving but when stopped it goes up to 1 bar past the middle.

On the climate control cluster it ranges between 96-102 C. I haven't seen it go higher than that. Also, I haven't really noticed the high fan coming on but I know the low does come on.

Any one know if this is normal? What can I do to fix this? Its wierd cause it only happened after replacing all those parts.

Default Normal if you didn't use an OEM exact replacement thermostat...>

Some aftermarket replacements have been demonstrated to have different opening and flow characteristics.

Default The Behr does not open up as far as the OEM

Someone posted an experiment on this board a few years ago. Placed a Behr and an OEM in a pan of water with a thermometer. Both began to open at identical temps but after a few minutes the OEM had opened much further than the Behr, thus explaining the slightly higher temps for the Behr. The OEM has better coolant flow.
