Coolant Temp Sensor Fail?

Coolant Temp Sensor Fail?
Good Morning!
I have a 2003 TT 1.8 Quattro. My temp sensor on the dash will work sometimes and sometimes it will not. Very annoying to say the least. I did the "hidden code" trick and it read, after being driven for at least 2 hours, -10 Celsius. Which is way below freezing 😆. As I said it will go up to a normal temp (halfway up the dial) and then the rest of the time it will read as if it is stone cold. Fuel gauge works fine...Speedo works fine...RPM works fine as well...Pixels...well they are on the Fitz as well....I am pretty sure the temp sensor is failing. No puddle of fluid under the car or anything like that.So thoughts on this one? Never have owned an Audi as I have owned a Boxster for the last 10 years before this car...Thanks in advance!
