Crashed fender and insurance headache
Beautiful sunny day in Miami Beach, bumper-to-bumper traffic and some idiot decides to change lane with his big V8 truck thinking he has enough room. All I hear is crushing of the side of my car.
He was cited and found at fault. His insurance will pay for damages.
Question: I located a rental car that is comparable to mine. Yet they are trying to stick me in some crummy car at $25.99/day. Well, I found a Jaguar S-Type which doesn't compare to the TT but is fairly comparable at $75/day. They refuse to pay it. Instead the max they are willing to do is stick me in some A4. Is that comparable to the TT???? Opinions please!!!!
Question #2: They want to replace the fender paint it, repaint the hood, and blend the hood and the passenger door with clearcoat. Well, shouldn't they do the whole car??? Half of my car will look brand new and shiny and the rest slightly faded???? Doesn't make sense to me. Shouldn't they make my car whole by clearcoating the rest of it???? Help!!!!!

Dude, take the A4. You can never expect the other rental agency to pony-up for much on the rental..
... they're obligated to make you whole again, but not with respect to matching the exact class of car. Is it a new A4? We've got one of those and I love it. Take it.
As far as the repainting of the whole car, no, that would NEVER happen. Your car will not look mismatched, especially since silver is pretty easy to blend and you won't notice the gloss differences.
IMO, you're being a little unreasonable about this.
Overall, sorry about the damage, man. That sucks

it's best to keep as much of original paint as possible plus, they should be able to
match the paint as close as possible meaning with today's techniques it is hard to screw it up. And the A4 should be plenty compensation for a rental. It is just as safe if not safer than the TT. You have the right for "like for like" but this is usually hammered out during subrogation between your insurance and the perps.

But out of the old car the new TT was born..
I was stuck with a pos lancer for more then a week.
