Default cross country in roadster?

I'm picking up my roadster in 3 weeks (ugh, seems like a long time!) and driving it back to Colorado. Just wondering if anyone here has taken their roadster across country and if they recommend the luggage rack. Thanks in advance

Default sure, just drove from NY to LA last month... great drive!

i want to get back on teh road already it was so great

My GF and i planned on a 6 day drive (wound up staying a day on top of that in the drand canyon)

here is a pic of our trunk

<img src="http://agencynet.com/danny/TT_X-Country/TT_X-Country-Images/2.jpg">

there is actually a good amount of room if you can pack well

she had thelarge carry on luggage, i had teh duffel on the left, plus a few small bags packed behind teh luggage, backpack, and computer case.

you can also fit some smaller bags behind your seat, and plenty of water bottles underneath

its a great country for top down driving! enjoy!<ul><li><a href="http://agencynet.com/danny/TT_X-Country/TT_X-Country-Images/2.jpg">pics and stuff in this thread here</a></li></ul>

Default I can't do that...

we're flying in to pick it up and have to carry suitcases. We're also spending a week visiting family before we drive home, so I'm worried about being able to fit our bags into the trunk and am thinking about getting the luggage rack.

Thanks for the pics - that really helps a lot! That makes me feel better about the amount of room, although I'm still thinking of getting the luggage rack because my husband and I will be splitting up for part of the week to visit family, so we can't share a suitcase.

Default Use small carry-on luggage

Stuff it in corners and on backseats. Live light. Enjoy the trip! I've done it in a TR-7R, and now have a TTQC.

PLEASE do NOT get the rack!

I think you're right, we will try to pack light, and use a few carry-ons. Although, it still makes me anxious, knowing that I can't try and fit everything in before I leave. Just curious, though why do you say don't get the rack? Because it ruins the look, because it damages it? We would NOT keep it on all the time, but dont want to get it if it's difficult to take on and off.
