Default ...damn glove box...

I broke the handle of my glove box last night, and the dealer told me I'll have to get the entire box replaced. They'll have to order the glove box so it'll be several days... what sucks is my cell phone is in there!!

Does anyone know how to take it out, so I can get to my phone??

Default My handle pulled off in 1999 and I put it back on and it is still fine 5 years later. I just

..can't remember now how I fixed it but I could get the door open. I used a screw driver to move the mechanism some how but again I don't have a clear picture after all this time. I did post a write up though, maybe you could find it doing a search. JIM

Default Glove box handle

I pulled my handle off a year ago, forgetting that the glove box was locked. If you look at the opening mechanism left on the box and how it the handle fits into it, you will be able to figure out how to get the box open. I can't remember exactly how it operates, but I do remember it didn't take me long to get the glove box open. I was also able to replace the handle, just like new, by pressing it back into place. If it is just the handle, you don't need a new unit.

TT-Midwest is in the plan . TT-East can't get out of a big Friday marketing mtg so I can't go.

See below, but after yourremove the right side panel (the opposite of the fuse box side), there is another panel with Torx screws that has to be removed. Remove those, take out panel and you should be alright.

Default Happened to me 2 weeks ago

what happened was one of the prongs severed off. I essentially fitted the handle back into place. I had to kind of push to hold the back end in place as I pulled but it worked just fine.

i hope you are still under warranty. Altogether the dealer would have charged me something like $500 if I was not. If I was not covered, I would have swapped in the euro lower dash instead.
