This afternoon the battery was totally dead and when the new one went in, the car came alive and all was well.

Hope this was the root cause! Will keep you all updated if things go south again.

Thanks to all the TTers who promptly replied to my earlier thread and helped with the diagnosis.

Auto-kill below 9.3V (IIRC). A battery PM schedule is a must, just like the cogged belt and tensione

Car seems to run good; I seem to have lost the APR programs and switchability >>>

which seems wierd. My shop resoldered all the points just as a precaution.

The new battery seemed to have solved it ... and I though I could deviate from being part of the TT-Borg and escape the issues

Will now wait for the senders to go up in smokes.

Any expalnation for the strange chip loss? Could it be the aliens or the vulcans? Or maybe a Jedi mind trick?
