I use Chevron gas everyday... You talking about the gas w/techron or the addative?

Default Heavier foot? Different type of driving this tank?

Are you basing it on what the computer indicates? That is pretty inaccurate over the life of a tank of gas from my observations. Mine is always about 1mpg off.

I doubt that the additive was responsible for that.

Default I've noticed that my car seems to have an ideal octane and >>>

anything above or below that point seems to result in poorer mileage. I don't know if the car "learns" or gets used to a certain octane. I actually get my best mileage when I mix premium and ethanol enhanced regular. I'm guessing that the Techron would not only clean but would raise the octane in the tank. Probably this is only a temporary problem.

Default mixing premium and regular? why not just buy midgrade?

I've heard many stations only have regular and premium underground tanks... when you buy mid-grade, the pump simply blends a 50/50 mix from the 2 tanks. Don't know if this is accurate but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work.

Default actually the ethanol is midgrade so what I end up with is about 90 octane >>

and my car seems most content with that. Plus, saves a little money since ethanol is subsidized here in Iowa.

Default Give the ECU time to adapt...

the injectors are probably spraying better, and it may be running richer than the ECU expects from its pre-Techron learning.
