Anyone tell me if the wastegate on the 225TT is different to the S3? Drove one the other day, noticed nice whistle noise which my S4 doesnt make!!!!

I had a K03 in my TT, and now have a K04 and I love the sound! It doesn't have so much to do with the wastegate as it does the impeller design between the two turbos. I included a picture showing the difference.

The S3 has a K04 turbo as the 225 TT.Almost the same engine.

Does the S3 K04 look like the A4 K04? Is the S3 engine normal or transverse mounted? I can show you pictures I took of a A4 K04 vs. a TT K04. This could explain the difference in noise. Let me know if you want to see them.

Jenner, the S3 has exactly the same engine bay as the TT, i.e. the same K04 turbo only the plastic covers are different. The engine is slightly detuned in order not to "hit" directly the TT, hence produced 210bhp. Most of the tests i have read state that the lap times performed with the S3 are slightly better than the TT. Depends on how the car is set up.The official 0-62 is 6.8 for the S3.

I haven't seen it but as i heard everything is the same as the 225TT.Same car different shape.

The east/west motors ie S3/TT use this style K04, verses the other one used in the north/south motors.

S3 motor identical to TTq motor, just reprogrammed to produce 154Kw instaed of 165Kw and 270Nm of torque instead of 280Nm.

S3 is 20Kgs lighter though.

A3 turbo has 110 Kw/150hp motor

A3 turbo quattro has 132kw/180hp motor.

Then there are the atmo 1.6 and 1.8 engines and the turbodeisel.
