Default Does the temp. gauge ALWAYS stay in the middle,

and how safe is it fo it to go 1 tick to 1.5 to the right of center.. this usually happen in city driving.

Is this "normal" the manual says its ok.. just as long as other warning light don't come on.

What do you all think?

Default Re: Does the temp. gauge ALWAYS stay in the middle,

That is actually Fine.. Middle is roughly 90 degrees. The normal operating temp is 90 through 105 degrees I believe.

On the climate control, press and hold the up arrow and then the recirc button . When you do this, you should see "1C" on the display meaning you're in the diagnostic mode Turn the temperature **** until you see "49C" on the display and then press the recirc button. You'll get a digital readout of the coolant temp in degrees celcius. Straight up on the guage is 90 degrees, but you'll see the digital guage fluctuate a bit. If you're over 105, the needle should start moving over to the right.

You can also check your engine temp at 51C. To get out of the diagnostic mode, press the Auto button.

Default Is your AC on?

When the AC is on, the radiator fans runs all the time. This usually keeps the engine temp in the middle. When the AC compressor is off, the fan only turns on when the engine heats up a tick over the middle. It then turns off when them temperature comes back down to normal. This is quite normal for city driving.

Default I usually don't use the AC that heavily.. i've noticed it a few times

cruising in town during lunch and thought it was pretty peculiar..especially it was nice day.. temp in the 80's and breezy. It was stop and go traffic though.
