Default Drove a friend's brand new convertible M3...not impressed>

Nice car but left me uninspired. Now, I didn't rev the crap out of it....only to ~4K but just did not have the poop I was expecting. Shifter was sloppy, too. And as for steering feedback, man,....overassisted and somewhat dead (I've been told the new Vette steering is much the same....if that's the case you can keep the new Vette).
So? what's all the hoopla about? Again, I did not get it in the serious rev range but boy it should have delivered more at 4K.
We then got in my boost machine. Even with some knock (much better) I knocked his socks off. 32lbs of boost.....power far superior to that M3.

I've ragged on our cars at times and am realizing more and more that the competition is not so great.

Default You do need to rev it higher; nice up to 4K or so - but floor it and rev it out,

and it will go pretty hard.

Yea, power curve is steep (graph in a mag.)but would indicate more at 4K than I felt

it redlines at 8K, if you took it higher you would have felt it.

Default When your ready for a real race please let me know.. :)

Would be interested in seeing how a fully built TT would do against my near stock Z.. I think I might be able to keep up with ya, of course all in good fun.. Im still looking for a good race, everything Ive ran so far can't even keep it interesting.. Including the GSX 750 (a rice rockett bike) that I ran for 10miles..

What are you putting down at the wheels now? 350awhp?

As for the M3, with 262ft-lbs of torque it really won't feel anything.. My buddy just put an order in for 1, I told him he was making a mistake by getting another one but Im actually looking forward to being able to REALLY drive one to the limit and see what they really have.. Ive driven M3s before but never really pushed them (rwd, not my car, no experience with rwd cars..etc), now things are a little different and I feel a little more comfortable with throwing the rear around a little.. I felt the same about the shifter the first time I drove one, felt sloppy, and the clutch throw felt like it was out of a sabb..
