EBC Brakes - Don't make these stupid mistakes! I did...(long)
First off - Many thanks to the fabulous photo-journalists who have paved the way.... Here's some additional concerns.
1. Since EBC GreenStuff pads don't exactly match denim, I decided they required a coat of paint. Yes, I bought the high-temp stuff. However, the paint I used reacted to the existing green paint that was light sanded and well prepared. I ended up with a nice krinkle-coat appearance. I had to use solvent to remove all of the blue and green paint. Added another light sanding before applying the high-temp blue. Finished coat looks nice. To save your self the effort of spraying twice, remove all of the green paint first.
2. I assume (bad word) all high-temp paints need to be cured (cooked). Don't use your household oven. I tell ya... there's nothing quite like the smell of kevlar in the morning.... Use the BBQ if necessary - DO NOT USE YOUR OVEN! Sure, Laugh your butts off...Two days later, I'm still smelling kevlar in the kitchen. What an idiot?? I don't know what I was thinking.
Please have a few laughs and chuckles at my expense...
I hope to install the brakes over the weekend assuming I survive cataract surgery tomorrow. No, I'm not that old - 37.
Following the posted instructions will make life easier.
Thanks again guys & gals,
Don

I used Yellow Folia Tec Brake Caliper Paint and had no problems going over the green stuff.
