Default Eibach Spring "Clunk"?

I get a loud clunk sound from the front of the car when I back out of a spot, and turn the wheel right. Get a similar clunk going low speed turning wheel either way. My local Audi dealer checked out the front suspension and declared everything normal. But then someone pointed out that 1. The previous owner of my TT had installed Eibach springs without the matching shocks (I hadn't known this) and 2. I was hearing "spring bind" - the springs just twisting in the cup (I hadn't heard of this before). Anyone else heard of this or had this experience? I've read other posts like this that point to sway bar issues, but I would have thought that even a sub-par service dept would have spotted that. I'm having a more reliable Audi dealer check it out this week, but it would be cool to know what I'm dealing with in advance.
TIA

Default Could be....>>

A bad stut bearing. Strut rotating, and bearing not would do that...Pretty inexpensive part...
