Embarrasing High School Sports & Club Poll>>>>>>>>>:
Some of you (us) might be getting a little too old to remember our HS affiliations but for the rest of you, it's time to let us in on your secret HS lives!!!
What sports did you play and what clubs (any "official" school club counts) were you in?
I predict that a little honesty will generate some howling laughter at this thread all day long!
In order to set a proper example, Here's my list, Raw & Uncut!! :
Sports:
Tennis (3 Yrs)
Golf (1 Yr)
Bowling (2 Yrs)
Yeah, I know the bowling team is a bit "well, you know", but I looked great in those shoes AND future 49ers star John Taylor was on the team too so how gay was it, really??
Academic Teams:
Advanced Chemistry Team
(yep, no kidding - I was even pretty good and did well in a bunch of State and Regional competitions. Don't know what happened after HS).
CLUBS:
Future Physicians Club - President
Congressional Seminar Delegate (NJ).
Oh yeah, I was "King" of the Senior Prom too. Got no respect from my date's (the Prom Queen) parents. They chased us out the back door of the place after we called to say I wasn't bringing her home by 11:00 b/c we were "obligated" to attend the post-prom party! Still one of my funniest HS memories.
OK, it's someone else's turn to embarrass themselves............

LOL, good poll
Yearbook Staff
General hellion with own reserved spot in Headmistress Sister Mary Roberta Huffman's office.
Varsity:
Basketball: (the first year they actually let a woman play full court...but only two of us on each team could. I was the "Roving Guard" LOL, times sure have changed. In 1966, I guess they thought that playing full court would hurt us fragile wimmins.
Tennis
Field Hockey - right wing
Fence Jumping - Georgetown University campus only separated from our campus by chain link fence with barbed wire !!

Here goes...
Sports:
Soccer (4 yrs) - My favorite sport, played right wing, and goalie
Football (3 yrs) - Wide receiver until a hit that knocked me out taught me better, kicker.
Cross Country (4 yrs) - Well, it is just running, best 3-mile time 15:49
Golf (2 yrs) - Our school didn't even have a golf team, but with only 400 students in the whole school, we didn't have a lot of teams. Basically, our headmaster was a big golfer, there were 4-5 of us who played regularly, and he formed the team just so he and us could go play every day after school, we pretty much sucked, but we won a few matches. Although I am proud to have been on the first golf team, and they still have one today, so at least we got the ball rolling.
Academic teams:
Debate - I hated the highly structured debate formats.
Clubs:
French & Spanish Clubs
Thespian Society
Marine Biology - This was the best. In addition to diving trips, we would also take inner-city kids who had never been on the ocean on snorkeling trips, and show them marine life, really fun.
