More likely, is that the toothed wheel on the wheel bearing housing was bent or cracked in some way from said impact. This wheel sits in between the brake rotor and the dust guard on the wheel bearing housing. If this was damaged, either a intermittent or permanent fault warning light would come on.
The problem you run into is that if the toothed wheel is damaged, you will have to replace the entire wheel bearing housing as it is all built into itself.
Also, in order to see most of these types of fault codes you will need the vag-com diagnostic software for a laptop computer and the obd2 adapter to get the computer to connect to the car.
