Default euro spec headlight, anyone got them...

I havent found any reliable info on having these as they are common in other applications for the A4/S4, etc. Has anyone bought them, why isnt there as much talk about them as with the other series?

TIA,
Chris

Default I have them. . .

They are missing the side reflectors and have an additional bulb "City Light" just under the high beam bulb. I like the light pattern better than US spec lights too. If you decide to purchase, you must also get the euro spec switch.

Default of course there is, it most lights the euro spec has much better output.

Thats why people get them in most cases. my brother just got them in his S4 and the light output is incredibly different and better.

Default Re: I have them. . .

all euro lightst have the city bulb, thats why they lose the orange reflector.

How much did you pay just for the housings?
Did you need a harness adaptor?

Default

Well, you'd have to have someone in a Euro TT then confirm this, don't think it's a positive.

Default yes, all western european cars adhere to ECE rules...

and have considerably different lighting
patterns. It has always been this way. For HID lighting, US specs require no more than 28000 lumens of output whereas ECE regulations or Ecode with Germany being designated as E1, allow 39000 lumens. The euro cutoff is completely different as well moving at about a 30degree angle upward to the right and more output down the road and not as high near you.
This is why for at least 10+ yrs US enthusiasts have been retrofitting their cars with ecode lamps for better output, not for solely the look of a clear corner. here is a link of the pattern differences I am speaking of. It is from the tech articles and you can see the visual difference in output as well as see what the internals look like as well.
The US projector lens is ridged and clouded whereas the Ecode is clear and smooth allowing more output.
