Default Eventhough Bailey did not arrive today :) :) and I starting the pics for the exhange...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/dv%20to%20strut.jpg"></center><p>I have already removed the OEM DV and learned a few things...
-There is no way to reuse hose clamps except one and thus suggest having 3 Porsche style clamps ready to go for new DV install;
-Removing clamps will require a needle nose pliers (to fit in loop of two clamps so as to spread clamp apart for removal) and a slotted screw driver to remove last clamp by loosening screw of clamp;
-Due to positon of strut tower brace in relation to DV and thus area to work in I found that removing the brace made things a LOT easier...required NO but easier YES;
-Removing brace took about 3 minutes..eight nuts removed (13mm socket is required) and brace lifts right off (it is NOT under any pressure etc)

This first pic shows DV in relation to strut brace and demostrates close proximity of DV to brace and thus limited working area...<p><img SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/AudiWorldPics/2000/tttiny.JPG" BORDER=0>

Default Well, then MichaelTT's car is going to be sitting in the garage for a while and he'll be driving the

loaner that the dealer offered, or the SLK. (Hindsight is always great, but I guess we should have gone and picked up the loaner on Friday ...) In the meantime, Michael's car isn't going anywhere. We're just hoping at least one valve shows up tomorrow.

Default I use compound tin snips to slice thru loop on speed clamps. Fast & easy.
