Every 10,000 mile oil change, this cant be good for my car.....

Every 10,000 mile oil change, this cant be good for my car.....
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/40271/auditt1.jpg"></center><p>Took my 2002 225Q in for the first 5000 mile oil change and they told me that the car only gets serviced every 10,000 mile, and that what audi pays for. The dealership went ahead and did the oil change for free as a good will gesture. My question is would'nt a 10,000 mile oil change be bad for the car?

Well, you can do it yourself, pay the dealer or some other shop to do it....
I use Synthetic, and change it every 5K miles (cause the 2001's were still covered every 5K)
But I would change it every 5K even if Audi didn't
BTW, you can click on preferences right above where you would post a topic and add your picture to your sig so that you dont have to type it in everytime.

the free service visits aren't necessarily all you need
sure, Audi gives you some free service visits over the first few years. nothing wrong with that.
but, the fact that they only offer visits at particular intervals doesn't mean that the car won't need some additional visits (whether for additional oil changes, or perhaps to fix other things). so, if you need/want some more oil changes, have 'em done when the car needs it (just don't expect Audi to pay).

The people that make the car told me directly that the only reason
it was changed from every 5k to every 10k was that American Audi dealers were getting too backed up and people were ticked it would take them 5 weeks to get a service appointment....so, they just extended the mileage -- voila, fewer appointments to schedule.
