F1 GS-D3, Fuel Gauges, and more...
Finally ponyed up the dough and bought a new set of Keds for the car. Goodyear F1 GS-D3s. First 30mi it seemed like I was all over the place as the tires broke in. After that they seem to keep me planted. My only experience prior to these were with OEM Pilot Sports. I have about 150mi now, and I can definatly say the feel is very different than the worn out Pilots that I just scrapped. I will update again after 1000mi.
Has anyone had problems with their fuel gauge? I fill my car with the ignition off, till the nozzle clicks off, then I put a little more in to help the enviroment. When I restart my car the fuel gauge reads less than 3/4 full. On frequent occasion it the gauge will drop to zero along with the DTE and fuel warning indicator. I know there is plenty of fuel left (little over 1/2 tank). So now the big question, is it the cluster or the sending unit? I'm hoping for the sending unit, I've heard enough cluster horror stories, but is there a way to tell with Vag-Com or other diagnostic? (Car is under warranty still, so this is not an emergency, Im just tinkering)
Last question, which short shifter would be recommended? I checked the review section and read about several different types, but none with a TT (225 if it matters).
Thanks

The fuel sending units. Pretty common for these to go bad. Do a search on FSU and you'll get a lot of info...
