Finally got the mirrors off in 1 piece...the tabs played a relatively minor role >>>
in the removal effort. It was thanks to careful prying that popped them off, one stem at a time. I would still use the tape to cover the mirrors, in case they broke.
Don't know if it's my imagination, but it seems that the euro-mirrors run hotter than the 'merican ones. (just by touching)
