Finally got my radar detector hard wired! One question, tho.
I tapped into the fuse itself, not into the wire as others have. It works great, and the wire is practically invisible.
My question is this: The headliner along the front windshield has quite the gap. When I tucked the wire under it, it wants to keep falling out when it is not plugged into the detector. I'd like to take the detector down sometimes when parked so as not to give someone an excuse to break my windows. Was anyone else's headliner this loose? If so, any tips and tricks? I've thought about buying a clip or two but I didn't hear anyone else doing this.
Thanks in advance
Ivan

I wrapped the wire with electrical tape in a few spots.
This adds some width to the wire, and it's been enough to keep the wire tucked out of sight.
Congrats on the hardwiring.
David

Just push the wire all of the way in up to the RJ11. It stayed in even at Lime Rock. :)

The RJ11 threw me off, then I remembered that is what V1's use.
I bought a thin two wire from Radio Shack and it is not as thick as RJ11. I'll try the electrical tape trick.
OK, mod-boy?
Hope you are well.
Ivan
