Latest issue of german magazine "sport auto" (12/99) runs a head-to-head test of original and modified 225 on the short course at the Hockenheimring. The modified car was typically 2–5 % faster on the apexes, taken at 45–70 mph, gaining half a second on each 80 seconds lap. This magazine, like others, also comments favorably on the handling "feel" of the modified car.

One Audi official said in an interview that new rear shocks being softer in extention increases rear suspension's lateral grip.

Test drivers for this magazine AND safety level on this track is on such a high level that "confidence" shouldn't play a significant part.
