... No, on second look its the original concept version of the 2006 Mitsu Eclipse.
Though some of you might enjoy seeing the base photo used by someone of limited imagination (and absolutely no understanding of Audi's design philosophy) to represent a vehicle almost entirely different from the 2007 TT.
Like the next generation TT this does have four wheels.

In my eye those are two different cars that share design themes and surface philosophy but little else.

I had one park next to me the other day >>
Brand new with no plates yet. When I walked up to my car, A guy and his kid were getting out of it. I heard him say to his kid "maybe he will sell it to you" referring to my car. Needless to say it put a big smile on my face. =)

"Two different cars"? "Share only surface philosophy"? You guys kill me.
I have no doubt that you could give a 4 hour lecture on the fundamental differences between the vehicles, and how the production vehicle betrays the intent of the designer who later committed ritual suicide.
However, as a consumer I see that the primary difference is the color, and everything else can be discounted as the inevitable differences between one-off concepts and cars that actually have to be assembled by robots.

How sad...
... in that you are only speaking figuratively.
As for your offer of the "lecture on the fundamental differences between the vehicles, and how the production vehicle betrays the intent of the designer" I'm sure I have something far more important on my schedule. Like buying a newspaper or having my shoes polished.
That said, I'd love to hear your take on Mike Desmond's design intent as well as your hallucinatory tale of his ritualistic "suicide."
As I rather suspect would Mike.
