My abs and Traction control lights come on also. It seems like they only come on when the car is completely cold or I'm driving hard.

Default okay...

1st-get timing belt changed
2nd-don't drive hard anymore until you get the rest of the bits sorted out.

I'm not sure what the timing belt has to do w/ it. Can you tell me more. All the major services were done at 65k

Default The timing belt...>>

Can potentially fail at anywhere from 60K and up. Many here have gone between 65 and 80K. When it breaks, or the related tensioner fails, or the water pump seizes, it will do $3-4,000 worth of damage to your motor, possibly more. Get it changed ASAP with new belt, Tensioner and water pump. Ignore the Audi recommendation of 100K + unless you're a very lucky gambler, or have a very good warranty..
It will cost you from $700 to $1500 depending on where you have it done. Parts alone are $275

It has been well documented here that they (timing belt, tensioner, water pump) can fail around 60k-70k miles and grenade your engine costing you at least $4k.

So, get the belt, tensioner and pump replaced and also have them look at your suspension.

Default depends....

if you're a decent wrench or know someone who is there are some good write ups on how to do it. Plan on a weekend and about $200-$300 for parts.

A shop I think will charge $600-$1000 from what I remember people saying.
