Former Miata owners, please speak up...
My girlfriend loves my S4, is tired or her '94 Integra, and wants me to replace my Miata '97 STO with a 225hp TT roadster. We drove TT's this weekend, and she couldn't stop talking about how much she loves the car.
I enjoyed driving it. It certainly feels safer than my Miata...but I feel like there is something pure about the Miata. So, the question is this: if you could replace the Miata in 6 months with a TT roadster, would you? Or, if you could add a TT roadster to the stable in a year or so, would you opt for that instead?
Many thanks!

With snow tires, it wan't too bad really. She was my daily driver for 3 years while a resident...
It was just the thought of someone else crashing into me that gave me the shivers.

I had a red '92, and now own an '01 TTR. You'll love the TTR -- it is so much faster and feels so much safer! While I loved my Miata with a passion similar to that I feel for the TT, I can't imagine ever leaving the TT at home if I also owned a Miata. Get rid of the Miata -- saying good-bye will be difficult, but once you get into the TT, they won't be able to wipe the grin off your face.

Owned three: a 1990, a 1991 and a 1997 M Edition ....
Still love the Miata and the way it drives, but you're right about the TT being much safer.
Why don't you keep the Miata and tell the girlfriend to sell her Integra if she wants a TT roadster? Why do you have to sell your car if she's the one who wants a new one?

Had a 99 Sport all tricked out for autocrossing. Decided to go with a 225TTQC instead. Really wanted the additional power--couldn't see dropping another $5K or more into a supercharger or turbo for the Miata, which I loved about as much as any of the 57 cars/trucks/cycles I've had. But more than anything, I wanted the Quattro for the hills and nastier winter weather here in the DC area. I can say, though, that I didn't consider the TTR, because for the money, if my main interest was a roadster, I would have been just as happy keeping the Miata.
Don't know if this helps, but to me, for a roadster, the Miata was just about perfect, and with the weight, the most flingable little car I've ever had.
Did transfer my "ZOOOOMY" plates to the TT :>
