Default Found my TT frozen today... funny since I didn't leave the house till 8pm...

NW winter storm, oh what a blast... Until my car was left outside. Before anyone gets pissed, I'm sorry I left my baby outside unattended!
Hope I posted these pictures right.

Default Just a tip for folks about chipping ice...

This may sound obvious, but I found out the hard way (on my GTI) that when you try to break ice on the top of the car or hood, etc, by hitting it with the end of the ice scraper or whatever, that the force can be transferred in a straight vector directly to the sheet metal and leave small dents. I thought (incorrectly) that the force would dissipate in 1 1/2" of ice, but it didn't. Be careful...

The best thing is to be patient. Get inside the car, start the engine and let it run for about ten minutes with the heater on at full fan speed and maximum heat. You can then just push the ice off your car with your hand. No problem. I've seen guys chipping away the ice from their windshields for several minutes with an ice scraper. I'm lazy. I let the heater do the job, and then just push the ice away effortlessly without any fear of damaging the windshield..
