Default Found a source for smoked side markers -- Installation is a piece of cake (windy)....

Got a pair from LightLens.com, $42.50 delivered - includes two new yellow bulbs. At first, I was skeptical after hearing that some of them were of poor quality. Well, when these arrived, they looked pretty sloppy. The face of the side marker itself was fine, but around the edges it looked like the dye had coagulated in a grove -- I thought about sending them back. Alas! Now that they're on, I think I like 'em! The edges are not noticable on the car really. So, if you've got some and don't care for the quality, try 'em on for size -- they look 150% better installed, and putting them on is a 45 second per side evolution -- enhances the look of the window tint IMHO.
To install -- I used the "credit card method" I read about on the A4 forum -- slide a CC behind the cover starting towards the rear. Slide forward you can't easily slide any further (about half way) and pop outwards. Pops right out, no problemo. Swap out the markers and pop back in by applying a tad of pressure.

Default InPro and MHW both make the smoked side marker lights - the problem is getting them...

I ordered some 1999.5> A4 smoked side markers which are the same as the TT but got the 99 ones shipped instead - which I wound up putting on our 99 Avant. I have since spoke with RapidParts where I purchased them - and they are awaiting another shipment from Germany. Looks like I'll have to wait a couple of weeks before they come in.
