Freeman Thomas: How Original!!!
#25
I would say this is less an Audi syle and more a Thomas style
Designer's all have a certain style that can be read into their work. Often times its not deliberate, but merely a reflection of their tastes and intuitions, and the skill sets they bring to the task at hand. I think that the TT is the one car in the audi lineup that has the least in common with its brothers and sisters in a design sense. They feel similar because of the materials that are used in their production and the mechanics underneath, but the comparisons really end there.
I know we all look at the new concepts coming out, and say "Gee, I've seen THAT somewhere before" but lets be real about this. The guy designs cars, and is damn good at it. You won't be seeing him designing toasters or shampoo bottles, but if he was you would see his style come out in those products too, and no one would question his ability to copy audi design, or the TT in general. His style is really personified by the TT, and it has opened greener pastures for ALL car designers to be more expressive as the market has been accepting of these 'radical' concepts (all asstecs aside).
We've all seen the bastardized copies of cars roll off the assembly lines. Just be thankful you don't drive one
